The impending General Election is THE topic of the moment. What do you think the outcome is likely to be? What impact if any, do you think it is likely to have on your life both personally and professionally?

A very interesting article and a spot on account by James about the current Election inertia and a grudging acceptance by Civil Servants that jobs will go or be migrated out of London. From an interim perspective, I believe the landscape could not be better. There will be an increasing demand for transformation leaders and change agents, and as James points out there are not too many “movers and shakers” around in Whitehall with the relevant background experience. HR will be subjected to major surgery and Departments are putting plans in place to rationalise, share and outsource HR services. As a long term interim esconsed in Whitehall, I can state categorically that “transformation” will be the order of the day underpinned by a need for creative and innovative solutions that will deliver better value to the taxpayer. Interims with the right skill sets should not fear!
